One of GEO's clients, using our patented C3™ technology, won the Australasian Land & Groundwater Association's (ALGA) Annual Cleanup Project Excellence Award at this year's semi-annual Ecoforum Conference in Australia. The project aimed to demonstrate efficiency and sustainable metrics during vapor treatment of the site.
Formerly a chemical manufacturing facility, the project received the award for demonstrating excellence in remediation methods that proved to be "an innovative, efficient, and sustainable method for treating VOCs in off-gas vapor streams." (Smith, 2014) A C3™ Refrigerated condensation system was used to treat the contaminated off-gas from a soil vapor extraction (SVE) system at the Huntsman Chemical Company Australia Pty Limited (HCCA).
C3™ refrigerated condensation, not limited by VOCs concentrations, allowed for shorter treatment periods than alternative methods. C3 can remove up to 99&percent; of contaminants from off-gas. Both of these making it a more efficient and cost effective solution.
